We toured Peninsula Valdes and saw many animals, including guanacos. Guanacos are like llama.
Another shot of guanacos.
Sea lion.
Elephant seals.
And more shots of elephant seals.
Flowers by the ocean.
Armadillo, going around the cars.
Armadillo again.
Finally, a clear shot of the armadillo.
A shot of the islet in Peninsula Valdes. Supposedly, in many years, the gap will be closed.
Elephant seals were quite lazy, sleeping the afternoon away.
See that gap? That will be closed because of the sediments carried by the ocean. It was quite a beautiful day.
Enjoying the view.
That's salty lake. Unfortunately, my shot is blurry. You have to take my word for it that the lake is covered with salt.
Then we went to see the whales!
We followed a mother whale and baby whale for quite sometime.
And another shot of the whale breaching the water.
The tail.
Rainbow touching the ocean.
We went to Punta Tombo to see the Magellan penguins during their mating season.
Penguin on its way back to its nest after feeding.
Another penguin.
A shot of the ocean where the penguins were marching in to eat.
These penguins were on their way to eat.
And you can see some of them in the ocean... they swam really fast.
More penguins by the beach.
That's me with the penguins.
Penguins swimming in the ocean.
More penguins swimming.
That's our shadows.
Another beautiful shot of the ocean.
Penguins created their nests under bushes and were protecting their eggs.
The Magellan penguins lay 2 eggs.
A private pool for the penguins.
Penguins crossing each other -- one on its way to the ocean to eat, the other going back to its nest to trade places with its mate.
The black dots in the field are penguins. They are on their way to their nests. Lots of penguins stood around, trying to figure out where they should be going.
Another penguin at its nest.
Penguins have a little parting in their belly to cover the eggs. You can see that in this shot. This way, the eggs are held at a steady 27 degree celsius (I think that's what the guide said).
We had tea at a Welsh community.
With cakes.
Front of the English tea house, where Princess Diana had visited in 1995.
We visited a paleontology museum. They had dinosaur skeletons.
This is me with dianasour bones. You can see how enormous they really were.
Lab at the museum, where the scientists are working on the bones.
From left to right. Marco, our tour guide; me; and Marcello, our driver. Marco is REALLY tall... 1.98 meters. We looked up on the net and found that converts to 6'6".
Puerto Madryn, where we stayed to tour Peninsula Valdes. It's a pretty little town right by the ocean.
And another shot of the Puerto Madryn.
